LCUMC Youth

Youth Ministry

The heart of LCUMC Youth Ministry is its culture. Our teens learn, serve, and worship with an unbridled energy and joy that is infectious. Faith isn’t just something we talk about — it’s something we live through the study and practical application of Scripture and a commitment to Christian fellowship — a community where teens feel safe to be themselves and authentic with one another.

Lewis Center UMC

Whether it’s delving into Scripture on Sunday mornings, connecting with and serving others through mission work, or discovering how our unique and God-given gifts can be used to spread the Gospel, we are a community that lives out its mission to Love God. Love Others. Share Your Faith.

Sunday Mornings @ 10:30 AM

Our Youth Ministry is designed for young Christians from middle school through high school with their unique perspectives, experiences, and challenges.

Praise music is one of the special ways that our teens connect to God. That's why we begin our time together on Sundays in musical worship with the church congregation before moving to our dedicated youth space. This is a time for biblical teaching, reflection, and connection as we help each other learn what it means to be committed Christ followers.

Faith in Action

Good works are the fruit of rooted faith. Christians grow when they serve.

Each summer, our youth head out of state on an annual mission trip that can only be described as life changing. We build and repair homes, serve at food pantries, meet the needs of the local community and more. It can be hot, dirty work or full of meaningful connection--our youth always take it on with willing hearts. In between working, we worship, pray, forge friendships, connect with the community, have fun, and joke and laugh until our sides hurt.

Closer to home, our youth participate in monthly mission opportunities that allow them to serve others face-to-face and be the hands and feet of Christ to local communities in need.

Winter Retreat

Every January, we spend a weekend on a high-energy winter retreat filled with worship, praise music, biblical teaching, games laughter, and unforgettable moments that strengthen friendships and deepen faith.

Pray Hard. Play Hard.

Our program plugs teens into a peer group that shares their Christian values. Bonfires, overnight lock-in parties, and group outings--if it helps our youth connect, have fun and grow their faith then we're all-in!

A Place to Belong

God friends are the best friends. Our youth love, trust, and support each other and it shows. As cherished children of God, teens in our program always have a place among their peers and youth leaders where they are accepted, understood, and free to honestly express themselves as our youth ministry helps prepare them to become powerful servants of Christ and carry their faith out into the world.
