Youth Discipleship

Youth Fellowship is just the beginning.

At Lewis Center United Methodist Church we create an environment in which youth can experience love, develop faith, and serve others – all while making and deepening friendships.

Our vision is to be a healthy, growing, spiritually vital, risk-taking place of ministry, through which together with God we can make and equip disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

We Expect God To Be In This Place

A full worship service with youth, co-lead by youth. Each service includes a message based on the same scripture taught to the entire church, music, and time for prayer and reflection. Encounter meets during our 10:30am service on Sundays. Ask our greeting team about the location on our church campus.

Friday Nights. You're Invited.

All youth in grades 6-12 are invited to participate in fun games, interactive faith building, and Bible lessons for real life.  Sometimes we do pure fun, like Wii game tournaments, and sometimes we do service projects together.  Whatever we do, we’re building friendships with Jesus and each others

Jr. High (6th- 8th Grade) meets the first and third Friday of each month from 7 to 10 PM.

Sr. High (9th- 12th grade) meet the second Friday of each month from 7 to 11 PM (except during football season, we meet on Saturdays).

It's your faith journey. Claim it. Live it.

Confirmation is an opportunity for youth to claim for themselves their identity as children of God, their faith in Jesus Christ, and their commitment to the Church.  During Confirmation classes, youth will expand their circle of friends, discover what it means to live as a disciple of Jesus, learn the mission and organization of the church, and in the process have a lot of fun.  The Confirmation experience creates an environment in which young people can make for themselves significant spiritual decisions.  Any youth in 7th grade or older may participate. Information on our next confirmation offering to be announced.

Every fall, usually in mid-November, the youth get away for the weekend for spiritual growth, group bonding, and of course fun!
