LCUMC makes a REAL IMPACT through our Mission Outreach!

Click Here to donate to any of our mission outreach projects.
To be the hands and feet of Jesus means that we do the things that Jesus would do:
Share the story of God's love; feed the hungry; clothe the poor; encouraged the disheartened;
heal the sick, etc. At LCUMC, we give our time and energy as well as our resources. When we
encourage our children and youth to participate in giving themselves away, we create a
compassionate heart for tomorrow's world's leaders. Come and get your whole family
involved in loving others!
PEOPLE IN NEED (PIN) is our Delaware County food bank.
Weekly folks bring in supplies/cash to fill the shelves at PIN; volunteers share the work on a
weekly basis; Back to School supplies and shoes; Mitten giving tree; Christmas Clearing House;
nine volt batteries; Harvest parade; Provide an emergency Fund.
RELAY FOR LIFE: raise funds and awareness for Cancer Research
June is our annual Relay for Life. We provide a walking team and sponsors; man booths and
tethered hot air balloon rides; purchase luminaries in memory or in honor of loved ones with
cancer; provide leadership for memorial service and Sunrise service.
YOUTH SUMMER MISSION TRIP: our youth participate in ReCreation, an organization that provides
house repair and restoration for the poor in the Asheville, NC, area.
We support our youth in their fund raisers and monetary gifts and provide leadership support for
this July activity. Our youth learn practical skills, team work, and develop a tenderized heart
for the poor.
COMMON GROUND is the Free Store providing gently used clothing and household items for Delaware County.
The 1st Saturday of every month, we volunteer to serve/host/stock shelves at Common Ground;
April/September we clean out our closets for spring/summer or fall/winter clothes to fill the shelves -
the youth transport the items and stock shelves for two of their monthly mission projects.
CHURCH FOR ALL PEOPLE is a UM Church in the Columbus inner city that provides for the homeless in our area.
The 2nd Sunday of every month, we provide and serve breakfast to the homeless before their worship
service geared to share the good news with the homeless.
UNITED METHODIST CHILDREN'S HOME is a ministry that focuses on children and youth caught in violence.
The over 100 children/youth are in foster homes or in the group homes on the UMCH campus.
We provide over 100 Easter Baskets so that every child knows that Easter is a big
event - because Christ is Risen! We also volunteer to clean and prepare the landscaping for
spring and summer.
COMMUNION OFFERINGS: the 1st Sunday of every month, as we come forward to take communion we give of
ourselves to help others as a way to remember Christ give himself for us. These include (other than the above)
Turning Point ( refuge for women and children caught in violence); baby Clothes for Baby Jesus (infant supplies
for Grady Hospital); our West Ohio Annual Conference Miracle Offering, etc.
Other outreach projects:
ABC quilts - quilts and blankets for AIDS babies
Eyeglasses for Lions Club
Coats for God's People - gently used coats for the poor and homeless
Blood Drive for American Red Cross - we are a host site at least twice a year.
Next drive will be July 30, 1-7pm
United Methodist Committee of Relief (UMCOR) is the arm of our church who is the first responder in times of
national or global disaster. When such a catastrophe occurs, LCUMC immediately gathers funds or
supplies to support UMCOR.
Apportionments - LCUMC supports the global mission and ministry of the greater United Methodist Church
through our budgeted "fair share". Together, we can make a greater impact with outreach around the world.
By ourselves, we could never do so much!
