At Lewis Center United Methodist Church we create an environment in which youth can experience love, develop faith, and serve others - all while making and deepening friendships.

Our vision is to be a healthy, growing, spiritually vital, risk-taking place of ministry, through which together with God we can make and equip disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

SUNDAY SCHOOL - 10:30 A.M.
5th-7th Grades - Junior High Class
Youth Room (east side)
Biblically based discussions and life-lessons allow youth to begin understanding Biblical references in 21st century settings. This is a safe space for exploring questions of faith and fruitfulness.

8th-12th Grades - Senior High Class
Youth Room (west side)
Also a biblically based discussion format, this class offers older youth a safe space to explore what it means to be a Christian, and the different ways we can live in and with Jesus in all parts of our life. This is an environment of fellowship and faithfulness.

YOUTH GROUP - SUNDAYS, 11:30 A.M.-1:30 P.M.
All youth in grades 6-12 are invited to join us after worship to share in a light lunch and participate in fun games, interactive faith building, and Bible lessons for real life.  Sometimes we do pure fun, like Wii game tournaments, and sometimes we do service projects together.  Whatever we do, we're building friendships with Jesus and each other.

YOUTH WORSHIP
On the first Sunday of each month, youth attend the 10:30 a.m. worship service in the sanctuary, rather than having Sunday School classes.  Youth may sit together in the "reserved" youth section near the choir or with their families.

On the last Sunday of each month (Sept.-April) the youth have their own worship service at 10:30 a.m. in the Youth Room instead of Sunday School classes.  Along with the Associate Pastor and Youth Director youth help to lead the service, which includes contemporary music, Scripture, praying for and with each other, interactive sermon, and celebration of Holy Communion.

SUMMER MISSION TRIP
Every summer, usually in mid July, the youth take a week away to serve the needs of others.  It's a great opportunity to put faith into action, to build close friendships, and to learn new skills.

WINTER RETREAT
Every winter, usually in early December, the youth get away for the weekend for spiritual growth, group bonding, and of course fun!

CONFIRMATION CLASS
Confirmation is an opportunity for youth to claim for themselves their identity as children of God, their faith in Jesus Christ, and their commitment to the Church.  During Confirmation classes, youth will expand their circle of friends, discover what it means to live as a disciple of Jesus, learn the mission and organization of the church, and in the process have a lot of fun.  The Confirmation experience creates an environment in which young people can make for themselves significant spiritual decisions:  Do I want to confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior?  Do I want to become a member of the Church?  Any youth in 6th grade or older may participate.  We hold Confirmation Class in even numbered years (2012, 2014, etc.).
