LEWIS CENTER PRESCHOOL
Our preschool staff creates a safe, comfortable, and exciting environment, which will assist all children in reaching their full potential through making friends, sharing, taking turns, playing, and exploring their world. Lewis Center Preschool is a place where children are encouraged to develop their own unique, individual potentials and talents. We provide a healthy, loving, child-centered environment to aid young children in all areas of development: social-emotional, cognitive, and physical. CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL
Concurrent with our 10:30 a.m. worship service, the children gather for age-appropriate, interactive learning and faith development. We offer traditional classes for preschoolers (beginning at age 2) and kindergarteners. At the elementary level we embrace the multiple intelligences theory of learning by employing a rotational workshop model. Over a month's time, our children in grades 1-4 experience a different workshop each week, which allows the Bible stories to come alive in many different ways.
CLUB 54
Fourth and Fifth graders meet monthly (Sept.-May) for fun and faith-building activities.
SPECIAL AGE-SPECIFIC EVENTS
Throughout the year we hold special activities for specific age groups, such as "Angel Breakfast" for Kindergarteners and "Bible Boot Camp" for third graders.
OTHER ANNUAL BIG EVENTS
Easter
"Easter Bash" is a children's event the Saturday before Easter Sunday - stories, games, music, crafts, food, and an Easter egg hunt!
July
Vacation Bible School is a week-long event, usually held in the evenings, in which children experience the Bible in interactive and multisensory ways.
August
"Summer Bash" is our end of the summer festival for the whole family, which includes outdoor worship, picnic lunch, bouncy houses, music, games, and other fun events!
October
We celebrate "Bible Sunday" by presenting 3rd graders with their own personal Bible during the morning worship services.
Trunk or Treat is fun for everyone! The children (and young-at-heart) dress up in costumes and parade through the parking lot, which is lined with open car trunks, decorated and filled with candy and treats for the children! There are also games, crafts, and food!
Christmas Eve
4:30 p.m. is our special children's Christmas Eve service, in which children participate in a Christmas pageant, bringing to life this most holy of nights.
MISSION & SERVICE
Children participate in mission and service in a variety of ways. During Vacation Bible School the children adopt a mission project to support. At Christmas they collect hats and gloves for people in need. And children are encouraged to participate with their families in ongoing mission projects supported by the church, such as serving in one of the area's "free stores".
VOLUNTEERS
Our ministry is built upon a dedicated and caring team of adult and youth volunteers. To ensure the safety of our children, everyone who volunteers in our program has undergone a background check, conducted by an independent agency. We typically ask for a month-long commitment from our volunteers and have a variety of roles from which to choose.

CHILD CARE
Loving care for infants and toddlers, up to 2 years of age, is available in our nursery, concurrent with the 10:30 a.m. worship service.
