On entering the sanctuary you will find the cross and altar are our main focal points. The preaching is Biblically-based with real-life application and is presented in a conversational style. We use a printed bulletin, hymnal, and projection screens to guide us through the service and enable full spoken and sung participation by the congregation.
Our services are warm, casual, and somewhat traditional. For example, our pastors and choir members wear robes to lead worship. Our music program is excellent and fills our worship services with a variety of musical styles and selections, including gospel, praise songs, jazz, hymns of faith, solos, ensembles, handbells, and choirs. Tamara Hallas, Music Director, is one of the most qualified in the area and has a beautiful voice. Jim Luellen, Accompanist, is known around Columbus as the best jazz man around.
We are reaching contemporary people in a traditional worship setting, as we strive to make Lewis Center UMC a place to be yourself, to grow in God's grace and love, and to make an impact on the world.
